Dental crowns
Aesthetics, protection and strength, designed around your own smile.
- What it is
Crowns are a fixed solution for teeth that need aesthetic and functional restoration. They are designed to restore the shape, appearance and function of the tooth, aiming for a natural result and long-term durability.
- Approach
We place emphasis on quality materials, precision of fit and individual design. The aim is a restoration that sits harmoniously in the smile and meets the patient’s functional needs.
Indications
When might a tooth need a crown?
A crown may be recommended when a tooth needs strengthening or aesthetic restoration, for example in cases of:
-
Extensive wear or large fillings.
-
Cracked or root-treated teeth that need protection.
-
A need to improve colour, shape or symmetry.
-
A need for a fixed, long-term restoration.
Materials
The material is chosen for each tooth.
The material is chosen individually, according to the position of the tooth, its functional demands and the aesthetic result we are aiming for.
-
All-ceramic crowns
Made entirely of ceramic, and chosen when naturalness and aesthetics are the main priority. The practice uses modern ceramics such as e.max, according to the needs of each case.
-
Zirconia crowns
Zirconia combines high strength with very good aesthetics and has no metal core. It is chosen according to the demands of the restoration and the position of the tooth.
-
Metal-ceramic crowns
A well-established option, with a metal framework inside and porcelain outside. They can be used particularly in areas with increased functional demands.
The process
From diagnosis to final placement.
-
Diagnosis & design
We assess the tooth, the bite and the aesthetic needs. Where indicated, a digital impression is taken.
-
Preparation
The tooth is prepared so that the new restoration fits correctly and works in harmony with the rest of the mouth.
-
Temporary crown
When needed, a temporary crown is placed until the final restoration is complete.
-
Final placement
The final crown is checked for fit, bite and aesthetics, and then bonded.
